Honorable Mentions go to Cassandra Ashley Clarke and Melanie Duhamel.

After going through a mentoring process, the Honorable Mentions

will be performed as part of the Festival!

April 28, 29 at the Vartan Gregorian School Theatre

6:00 Performance by local musicians, featuring Laura Minadeo, a young singer/songwriter.

7:00 Awards Ceremony followed by performances, a question and answer session with

the winning playwrights, and ending with a reception!

FREE PlayRight! Instructional Workshop
Teachers - Host free playwriting workshops in your classroom with a theatre professional on the ins and outs of playwriting. Students write on their feet as they explore dramatic structure, conflict, character and dialogue in these active, participatory workshops. Workshops will be held Fall 2005.

11th PLAYWRITING FESTIVAL

ACT will produce up to 6 winning plays from the Competition as part of the
11th Annual RI Youth
Playwriting Festival

All winning plays receive public performance.
Winning Plays are staged at ACT with a professional director
and cast with members of the ACTeen Ensemble.
All winning playwrights receive the
ACT 2006 RI Youth Playwriting Award with cash prizes totaling up to $400.

Guidelines for Entry, Deadline December 8, 2005
Length: One-Act play, maximum running time 20 minutes
Minimal sets, minimal props
All entries must be original
No musicals, screenplays, or adaptations of previously published material
Collaborations are accepted
Scripts may also be submitted to other competitions and programs
Submit 3 copies
Scripts must be typed and securely bound
Scripts will not be returned
