Frequently Asked Questions - General
1.Where are classes held?
Unless otherwise stated, all classes will take place at the Vartan Gregorian School located at 455 Wickenden Street, Providence, RI (corner of Wickenden and East Street.) For directions please refer to the Directions tab at the top of the page.
2. How can I request information?
Please call the office OR submit your information via the Register tab at the top of the page and we will be happy to add you to our mailing list! Or, if there is something we haven't answered on the site please call the office at 401.728.1222.
3. How can I sign my child up for a class?
You can register online after viewing the appropriate class OR call the office at 401.728.1222 and we'll be happy to take care of you.
4. I've registered, now how do I pay?
Unfortunately, at the present time we are not able to take payments online. We can, however, take Visa or Mastercard over the phone by calling 401.728.1222 or we'll gladly accept a check mailed in to our Pawtucket office. Please remember we need payment at least 2 weeks prior to the start of class.
5. What happens after I register?
Someone from the ACT office will be in touch with you to confirm your registration and make payment arrangements. After speaking with someone, you will then be sent a packet of information with everything you need to know as well as pertinent release forms.
6. Is there financial aid available?
Financial aid is available on a per-need basis and on a first come first serve policy. We will try our best to meet your needs as much as we are able.
7. How do I apply for financial aid?
Please call the office and we will send you out an application.
Class Specific
1. How many students are in a class?
Class size can range from about 6 to 14 students. Any class over 10 students will have a teacher and a teacher assistant (TA).
2. What will they be learning?
Regardless of class theme, beginning students will learn theatre games, focus on movement and voice for the actor, improvisation, character creations and performance skills.
3. Does my child need to have experience to participate?
No experience is necessary for classes!
4. What if I need to miss a class?
Excused absences include religious holidays, family deaths, and illness. Excessive absences will be noted and impact classroom learning.

Youth must be aged 7-18 and have taken at least two ACTing classes or have been enrolled in the Summer Theatre Academy.
All rehearsals and performances are held at the Vartan Gregorian School, Providence.
YES! There are opportunities to participate as Stage Manager, Light Board Operator, and/or Sound Manager.
No refunds will be given once a student has been cast in a production. A full refund (minus the $50 included registration fee) if student withdraws one week prior to first rehearsal.
