Founded in 1987, All Children’s Theatre (ACT) is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to the education and enrichment of children ages 2-18. ACT enables children to use their imagination and creativity to explore all aspects of theatre production. Committed to providing theatre programs for ALL children, the organization’s offerings include scholarships for disadvantaged youth and specialized programs for children with emotional issues, learning disabilities, and physical limitations. Programs offered School of Drama - beginning and intermediate acting classes for youth. ACTing Ensemble—an award-winning youth acting ensemble where all parts are played by children and teenagers—no adult actors. Summer Camps—beginning intermediate and advanced sessions for kids 4-14. Outreach Programs—theatre programs for girl scouts, group homes, schools, after school programs and children with physical and emotional limitations. Youth Playwriting—the only youth playwriting competition and festival in Rhode Island—designed to teach the art of playwriting and allow youth to see their script on stage. Performances—affordable entertainment for the whole family. A great way to introduce your family to the theatre. Why Choose ACT? Professional Educators—ACT students receive instruction from professional educators who have several years of experience on and off stage. Among our current teachers, we have actors, singers, playwrights, screenwriters, and choreographers. Youth ACTing Ensemble—An award-winning youth ensemble with a minimum of 9 productions each year. All parts are played by children and teenagers—no adult actors. Total Theatre Experience—ACT offers programs that focus on stage direction, lighting design, costume design, sound board operation and playwriting. ACT members receive a Total Theatre Experience. |
