JOIN THE LITTLE MERMAID ON THE VARTANGREGORIAN STAGEPawtucket, R.I., April 11, 2007 – All Children’s Theatre (ACT), a non-profit, award-winning theatre company dedicated to the education and enrichment of Rhode Island youth, proudly presents “The Little Mermaid” as part of the company’s ACT and SEE Series for Young Audiences. This production, under the direction of Cynthia Calabro, performs April 28 and 29, May 5 and 6 at the Vartan Gregorian School Theatre.
All Children’s Theatre’s ACT and SEE productions are specifically designed to create an exciting and interactive theatre experience for children 3-10. When audience members enter the lobby they are welcomed into The Little Mermaid’s Undersea World where they can dance, enjoy music from the steel drum, color a fish puppet for the show and even make a shell necklace. Once the performance begins, audience members are invited on stage to see the sets, meet the actors, and participate in a short acting workshop. Then the ACT Ensemble takes the stage and encourages the audience to participate throughout the performance.
“In this ACT and SEE adventure, your little one can join Serena, Crustaceous Crab, The Sea Witch, and all of the colorful ocean friends in a Caribbean Festival to celebrate The Little Mermaid's first Rising to The Surface,” said Cynthia Calabro, director. “Serena needs your help to escape the clutches of The Sea Witch on her journey to meet The Prince. It's an Act and 'Sea' filled with fun, music and surprises!”
All Children’s Theatre is partially supported by the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, VSA Arts of RI, and is a proud member of the Fund for Community Progress.
